Andrés Gironda Limachi
At 68 years old, he lives in a rural community in Achacachi, La Paz, Bolivia, with his wife and granddaughter, whom he helps support despite the financial difficulties his family faces. For years he worked in agriculture, artisanal weaving, and selling products to earn an income, but cataracts in both eyes have progressively reduced his vision, limiting his ability to work, move around safely, and carry out everyday activities independently.
Today, Andrés increasingly depends on his wife’s support for basic tasks, and his quality of life, emotional well-being, and autonomy have been affected. Cataract surgery represents much more to him than regaining his sight: it means being able to work again, take an active role at home, regain his independence, and continue supporting his family with dignity. Your support can help Andrés see a future with hope again.
