KANTUTANI FOUNDATION | NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION

Private foundation that helps Bolivians to

SEE WELL TO LIVE BETTER

"SEEING WELL" is very important not only for an individual's emotional wellbeing, but also for optimal educational performance and development in school-age children and adolescents, for strong academic performance in university students, for better employment opportunities for adults responsible for supporting their households, and last but not least, for the autonomy and independence it provides to the elderly, allowing them to enjoy a dignified old age.

Empathy, Commitment, and Willingness

OUR STORY

The Kantutani Foundation was founded in July 2012, driven by the social awareness and solidarity-based commitment of its president, ARCHITECT LUIS ITURRALDE MORENO, who, moved by the reality of numerous Bolivian communities lacking access to basic services, promoted the creation of a private non-profit foundation aimed at improving the quality of life of people and communities in vulnerable situations. Through the Visual Health Program, our institution seeks to improve the physical and emotional health of those who suffer from a disability or vision problem, restoring their ability to lead a productive and fulfilling life, as well as the joy of being able to see their loved ones and admire the beauty that surrounds us.

OUR JOURNEY

AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS

Over the years, our Foundation has been recognized by both public and private institutions for its contribution and commitment to health, human development, and the creation of opportunities for those who need them most.

In Bolivia, we are one of the few organizations actively involved with the INTERNATIONAL AGENCY FOR THE PREVENTION OF BLINDNESS, a global organization working to eradicate avoidable vision loss in Bolivia and around the world.

For our institution, the SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS set forth by the United Nations serve as a guiding framework upon which we strategically build our social work in visual health, inclusion, and human development — aligning our actions with them and contributing to 5 of the 17 proposed goals.

IN BOLIVIA

Our Foundation is one of the few in the country that meets the specific legal requirements for its validity and operation, under Ministerial Resolution 368/23, issued by the Ministry of the Presidency and the Vice-Ministry of Autonomies, which recognizes and authorizes its legal status as a private non-profit organization.

IN THE UNITED STATES

Authorized and registered in the United States as a private non-profit organization (NGO), our Foundation enjoys significant federal and state tax advantages, established by the IRS under Section 501(c)(3), for donors who wish to support our social work from this country.
