World Sight Day Cataract detection and surgery

En el marco del Día Mundial de la Visión, la Fundación Kantutani, en colaboración con Visión Kantutani, llevó adelante una exitosa campaña gratuita de consultas oftalmológicas dirigida a adultos mayores, los días 9 y 10 de octubre.

Over the two days, there was a strong turnout of patients, who arrived early in the morning to access specialized evaluations and ensure the timely detection of vision problems, primarily cataracts. The community’s response exceeded all expectations, reflecting the high need for eye care among the older adult population.

Thanks to the dedication of the medical team and the supportive backing that drives these initiatives, not only was the initial goal of free cataract surgeries met, but the projected limit was also surpassed, offering a new opportunity to restore vision to more people than originally planned.

This campaign reaffirms the commitment of the Kantutani Foundation and Visión Kantutani to working toward a Bolivia where seeing well is a right and not a privilege, bringing specialized care to those who need it most.
